While the Blues have beaten Spain on home soil and Belgium to start the Seville leg of the Rugby 7s World Tour, the Blues kicked off their tournament with a clear success over Wales.
After their fourth place in Malaga, Les Bleues started very strong in Seville. On the occasion of their entry into contention in the fourth round of the World Rugby 7s Circuit, David Courteix’s players did not give the slightest chance to the Spain. On the lawn of the Olympic Stadium of La Cartuja, the Tricolores set the tone of entry with two tries in two minutes signed Joanna Grisez. Just before the break, the best player in the world in 2021 Anne-Cécile Ciofani signaled herself to register the third try for the France team. The Spaniards could not raise their heads in the second period with Jade Ulutule then Joanna Grisez in stride who widened the gap. A second attempt by Anne-Cécile Ciofani then a final achievement by Yolaine Yengo enabled Les Bleues to win very clearly (43-0). A result that they confirmed at the end of the day against Belgium, beaten almost by the same score: 45-0. The French scored two tries in the first half, by Coralie Bertrand and Iän Jason. Then Les Bleues rolled out their rugby in the second, with five tries scored by Iän Jason, Jade Ulutule, Joanna Grisez, Chloé Jacquet and Lou Noël. The French occupy the first place in group C after this first day, but they still have the big piece of the pool to face on Saturday (1:41 p.m.), Australia, who beat them in the small final last week in Malaga.
💪 Les Bleues are off to a perfect start in Seville! A very clear victory against the hosts of the competition. Next match at 7:35 p.m. against Belgium! #France7 #Spain7s pic.twitter. com/fdM7AcIMWu

The Blues did not tremble against Wales
If the program of the Blues included two matches this Friday, that of the Blues was lighter. Indeed, the proteges of Jérome Daret started their tournament with a duel against Wales. A match that the French team started with a bang, Jordan Sepho opening the scoring from the 1st minute… then doubling the lead two minutes later. While Morgan Williams answered for the Welsh, Joachim Trouabal took advantage of the last action of the first act to give the Blues a sixteen-point lead. As at the start of the match, Jordan Sepho made things worse at the start of the second half before seeing Luke Treharne save the honor of Wales. At the end of the match, Nelson Epée then Julien Blanc gave more relief to the success of the French team (38-12), who will face Japan then England this Saturday to conclude the group stage.
