Sabina Mazo out to show a ‘new phase’ of her game at UFC Fight Night 194

LAS VEGAS – Sabina Mazo feels the best has yet to come in her young MMA career.

The UFC women’s flyweight is confident fans will see a new version of her game at Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 194. Mazo (9-2 MMA, 3-2 UFC) takes on Mariya Agapova in the main card of the event.

The Colombian fighter entered the UFC with high expectations back in 2019. She was undefeated, was an LFA champion, and had two viral head-kick knockouts. Despite a couple of setbacks, Mazo is confident there’s a lot more in store for her career in the UFC.

“I believe myself and I have high expectations and more than that I know how much I can do in this sport,” Mazo told MMA Junkie at Wednesday’s UFC Fight Night 194 media day. “Yes, I’m young and that’s why I’m here. That’s why this Saturday it starts there. It’s a new phase, a new Sabina Mazo.”

Mazo also spoke with reporters about some of the changes in her career and training, the matchup against Agapova, and much more.
