Samsung Galaxy S23 FE Expected to Debut with Exynos 2200 Processor, No Snapdragon Variant

|

According to rumors, Samsung’s long-running mystery surrounding the Galaxy S23 FE has finally been solved. It was initially assumed that the phone would be available in both Exynos and Snapdragon variants to cater to different markets. However, a new rumor suggests that the Snapdragon variant may not be released at all.

Samsung Galaxy S23 FE: Rumored Specifications

Recent information shared by the source @Tech_Reve indicates that Samsung is gearing up to launch the Galaxy S23 FE smartphone later this year. The device is expected to be powered by Samsung’s own Exynos 2200 processor, with no Qualcomm Snapdragon version anticipated.

Samsung Galaxy S23 FE Likely to Ditch Snapdragon Chip

The decision to opt for the Exynos 2200 processor instead of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor is believed to be a strategic move by Samsung to cut costs and maintain profitability. By utilizing their in-house chipset, Samsung can have better control over the production and supply chain, potentially reducing expenses.

Moving on to the rumored specifications, @Tech_Reve also leaked some details about the Galaxy S23 FE. The device is said to come with either 6GB or 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM. In terms of storage options, users can expect UFS 3.1 with capacities of either 128GB or 256GB, providing ample space for storing photos, videos, and apps.

When it comes to opticsthe front camera of the Galaxy S23 FE is rumored to sport a 12-megapixel sensor with a pixel size of 1.12um. The main camera is expected to feature a 50-megapixel sensor with a pixel size of 1.0um.

Additionally, the device is likely to include a 3x telephoto lens with an 8-megapixel sensor and a pixel size of 1.0um as well as an ultra-wide-angle camera with a 12-megapixel sensor and a pixel size of 1.12um.

In terms of battery and charging, Samsung is expected to use the same battery technology and capacity as the Samsung Galaxy S23 smartphones. This means that the battery inside the Galaxy S23 FE edition should support 25W wired fast charging.

Release Timeline and Testing

Previously, a leak claimed that Samsung would launch the Galaxy S23 FE before the debut of the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and the Galaxy Z Flip 5. However, recent reports suggest that firmware testing has begun for the Galaxy S23 FE, specifically for model number SM-S711B. It’s important to note that no firmware has been seen yet for the US and South Korean variants.

This testing phase indicates that the device’s launch is still some time away, possibly not until early 2024. Samsung is rumored to have highly anticipated flagship devices like the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and the Galaxy Z Fold 5 scheduled for release by the end of July. Therefore, it seems Samsung is taking a staggered approach to its product launches, ensuring that each device receives the necessary attention and market positioning.
