Samsung started rolling out the January security patch two weeks ago. The first device to receive it was the Galaxy A51 cell phone.

This Tuesday (11), the update was made available for the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite. In May of last year, the tablet received several improvements in the S Pen.

The latest security package for Galaxy Tab S6 Lite has firmware version P615XXS4DUL5. It was first available in France, but it should be available in the next few days for more countries around the world.

The January update contains fixes for dozens of privacy and security vulnerability issues, making it critical.

If you have a Galaxy Tab S6 Lite, check the notifications to start downloading the update. You can also manually check the device settings in the software updates tab.

The South Korean company launched the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite in June 2020 with One UI 2.0 based on Android 10. In early 2021, the tablet received One UI 3 based on Android 11 and will receive the update to Android 12 in the first half of this year.

Samsung started this week the distribution of the security patch for the month of May for the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite, model released in the second quarter of last year. The brand’s tablet also received an update to the One UI 3.1, current interface from South Korea and which added new features to the laptop, such as “Dex Mode”, for example.

The changelog shared with us by reader Jailson Reis reveals the arrival of some new features, in addition to general corrections and improvements in system performance. In the May security patch the developer added support for new functions of the S Pen and automatic camera panning, also including the so-called “Quick Share”.

The new version is identified by firmware numbers P615XXU4CUE1, P615OWO4CUE1 and P615XXU4CUEI, which weighs about 422 MB and started to be released gradually to users, so it is likely that not everyone will receive the update at this first moment.

To check if your Galaxy Tab S6 Lite can now be updated, go to the settings, go to to “Software Update” and tap on “Download and Install ”. During the update process you will not be able to use the tablet, it is recommended to carry out the process with the battery above 70% or connected to the charger.
