Hardware accelerated ray tracing arrived on desktop graphics cards a few years ago , and is part of the current generation of consoles. Technology on the phones next year – Samsung’s forthcoming ) Exynos 2200 GPU is based on AMD RDNA 2 architecture and will keep ray tracing support from desktop and laptop GPUs.
Ray tracing is a physically precise simulation of light reflection from objects, which creates more realistic reflections but also more photo realistic lighting and shadows compared to the traditional method of lighting 3D models.

Exynos 2200 GPU will also have support for Variable Rate Shading, which allows it to render some objects with higher quality
It is expected that the mentioned GPU will be up to 30% faster than the current strongest Mali GPU, and this should give it a slight advantage over the upcoming Mali-G710 GPU. The final performance will depend on the clock speed that Samsung manages to achieve with the final design of the chip.
