Saudi Arabia to Start Electric Motorcycles Production by 2026

Vego Group announced a promising plan to establish the first plant in Saudi Arabia to produce electric motorcycles by 2026, Gulf News reported.

Vego Group has recently signed strategic partnership with a Chinese company to set up the plant in the Sudair City for Industry and Business, around 150km from Riyadh.

“This cooperation reflects Vego vision to be at the forefront of companies leading the industrial transformation towards more sustainable and efficient solutions and confirms our commitment to innovating advanced technologies that keep pace with future challenges,” Abdullah Al Subaiei, the Group’s Chairman, said.

Crucially, the full operation of the plant will commence by 2026 with an estimated annual output of approximately 50,000 motorbikes.

According to media remarks, Al Subaiei added that the establishment of the facility will build an integrated industrial system combining innovation and quality, with a special focus on improving national human resources and stimulating ambitious youth.

Through the latest partnership, the Kingdom accelerates the localization of the advanced industry, the fulfillment of sustainability goals, the reduction of dependence on imports as well as opening global export markets.

In what can be described as emission-free, agile electric bikes, they offer a perfect balance between convenience and eco-consciousness. Therefore, they represent an ideal option for city dwellers with riders can navigate congested streets with ease.

In recent months, Saudi Arabia has revolutionized the transportation means through a series of environment-friendly transportation initiatives. For example, it has recently launched its first hydrogen-powered bus and its first hydrogen taxi, highlighting a major innovation in sustainable transportation.
