Two days ago, two lawyers had written a letter to the Chief Justice requesting to pass an order to conduct a judicial inquiry into this gruesome incident in Lakhimpur Kheri. An agency like CBI can also be involved in this investigation.
Advocate Shiv Kumar Tripathi and CS Panda wrote the letter in the Supreme Court. In a letter written to the Chief Justice regarding the Lakhimpur case in the Supreme Court, both these lawyers have appealed to the CBI to conduct a judicial inquiry into the incident under the supervision of the Supreme Court. It is written in the letter that it has also been said in the media reports that the farmers’ protest was peaceful regarding their demands. Eight people, including 4 farmers, were killed in the violence that took place here on Sunday. The farmers allege that Ashish Mishra, the son of Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra, crushed the farmers to death, while the minister and his son claim that they were not present on the spot.
Angry farmers then ransacked and arson. Apart from the driver of the Union Minister, 3 BJP workers were beaten to death. A journalist who was injured during the coverage also died the next day.
