A public official in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, who took an exclusive application and passed the inspection at the City Hall Workplace Athletic Department, in charge of the recruitment process, is causing controversy over ‘self-employment’.
According to the city on the 18th, Mr. A, who has been working as a public servant for a tenure system (5 years) since November 2016, was released on July 1, 4 months before the expiration of his term.

Supervisors manage and supervise all sports in the workplace sports department , game analysis, performance improvement research, etc., and the contract can be extended for one year.

Mr. A was in charge of managing the Workplace Sports Department during his tenure system as a civil servant, so he wrote the notice of recruitment for supervisors and received inquiries from test takers.

Mr. A also applied for the supervisor, but unfortunately, there were no other candidates after receiving the application, so Mr. A went through screenings such as document screening, interview, and deliberation by the Workplace Athletic Department HR Committee and finally passed.
Regarding this, Assemblyman Lee Ki-in (People’s Power) of Seongnam City Council said, “Term-term civil servants themselves Self-employment, who applied alone to the professional job in charge and passed, seems to be impossible without the assistance of Seongnam City.”
Rep. Lee said, “The application submission period was significantly shorter than other recruitments, with the first 5 days and the second 3 days. “

Regarding this, a city official said, “We recruited supervisors for the first time this year, and the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports It was decided at the level, and Mr. A was in charge of writing the announcement and receiving the application.” “Mr. A alone submitted the application and re-appointed, but there were no additional candidates, so the relevant regulations Accordingly, the screening was conducted only for Mr. A.”
This official “The Workplace Athletic Department personnel committee consists of 6 outsiders and 2 city hall executives, and Mr. A cannot be involved.” He explained, “It may look strange from the outside, but Mr. A was selected fairly and there are no legal flaws.”
Yonhap News made several calls and left messages to hear Mr. A’s explanation, but contacted It did not arrive.
