Sequoia is investing millions in marketing startup with Berlin roots
For months, the model investor from California has been distributing more funds to German companies. The Berlin-based software specialist Clarisights is now also benefiting from this.

The Berlin software startup Clarisights has won the famous investor Sequoia Capital as a sponsor. According to a press release, the VC from Silicon Valley invested in the company through its India subsidiary, together with the Canadian pension fund Omers Ventures, through a Series A round amounting to twelve million euros. Some existing investors – including Signals Venture Capital and Cavalry Ventures – also re-invested. Clarisights did not provide any information about the company valuation. The company is now based in Palo Alto, California, but comes from the Techstars Accelerator in Berlin.
Hellofresh and About You are among the customers
The startup was founded in 2018 by Ankur Gupta and Arun Srinivasan and specializes in the analysis of large amounts of data in online marketing. The software shows companies how successful advertising campaigns would be on Facebook or Google, for example. It also provides information on costs that are currently incurred depending on the channel. The specialty: In order to analyze the data, users do not have to do any additional programming work. Clarisights customers primarily include tech companies. In Germany, for example, the online mail order company About You, the cooker box mail order company Hellofresh and Delivery Hero use the service.

With the money from the Round now, Clarisights wants to further develop the product and invest in personnel. For Sequoia Capital, Clarisights is the third investment in a German start-up within a year. The investor, known among other things through early investments in tech giants such as Whatsapp or Apple, had hardly invested in Germany to date. In the meantime, the strategy has noticeably changed. Most recently, the Augsburg-based e-commerce specialist Xentral and the Berlin software automation company N8n Money from Sequoia.
