The creators of WhatsApp are actively developing the messenger, realizing the lack of some features compared to Telegram and Viber, the two main competitors. The functions that are planned to be introduced in the application already this year are in the material from Gazeta.Ru.
TikTok mode
According to the information portal WABetaInfo, specializing in news about app improvements, the developers are discussing the appearance in WhatsApp of a new mode – an analogue of TikTok or Reels (short videos with endless scrolling on Instagram).
According to unofficial information, for something like content will be allocated a separate place in the application interface.
It is believed that users will be able to watch Reels directly from the application, and not specifically content created for WhatsApp. Thus, such videos will be available without going to Instagram.
According to experts, the owner of the messenger, Meta (formerly Facebook), is introducing similar functions in order to fulfill the plan unification of all your major applications.
Quit WhatsApp completely
Currently, WhatsApp messenger can only be logged out by deleting the account or application. But the developers are already working on better customization of this feature.
The updated logout from WhatsApp will replace the “Delete Account” button and will support the operation on multiple devices. For example, log out on one device and continue working on another.
The option will allow users to log out WhatsApp recordings from their devices, like Facebook and other social media apps.
Feature is still in beta testing. However, fans of the messenger have repeatedly criticized the platform for the extremely difficult mode of setting up the same account on different devices, so the introduction of the function is expected soon.
Unlimited deletion of any correspondence
Many WhatsApp users have faced the fact that they sent a message and would like to delete it after a while. The users of the messenger have only very little time to delete the message in the chat for everyone, not just in their correspondence.
WhatsApp currently has a strict limit of 68 minutes and 16 seconds after sending, the message remains in the chat forever.
The author will be able to delete it only on his device, the other chat participant will continue to see him.
However, they plan to remove this restriction very soon. According to unofficial information, the deletion of unlimited sending time has already been tested in beta mode and in the near future they plan to introduce it in the official updates of WhatsApp.
Hiding data from individual users
Currently, users can hide the time of the last WhatsApp visit, but for everyone at once, and not just for specific contacts or user groups … However, the developers are already working on this setting. It is expected that when you select Show Last Visit Time, the All My Contacts Except option will appear.
By selecting the option, the user will be able to include in the personal ban those who would not like to show their presence in the messenger.
It is believed that the development is carried out in connection with the company’s plans to increase the number of privacy settings within the messenger and promote it as a safer application for correspondence.
Telegramming, or “Communities”
A separate new feature called “Community” is planned for groups within the application. It is a variation of your own social networks inside the WhatsApp messenger.
The function will be similar in meaning to how groups on the social network Facebook work. Several groups can be located within one community, and it will also be possible to create a separate channel for administrator messages. The messenger by Pavel Durov allows you to send a series of responses to certain messages in your own channel.
Read Later
WhatsApp will now feature Read Later “And, according to unofficial data, will be an improved version of the existing archive chats feature in the messenger.
According to testers, when a chat is moved to the Read Later section, WhatsApp will not send new message notifications for that chat.

One account on multiple devices
The ability to use WhatsApp on multiple devices without the need for a constant connection with a smartphone is in great demand among users. This feature has already appeared in beta testing format. Nevertheless, it still there are flaws. Chats still take an extremely long time to load on computers.
