In a recent interview, she was asked if the failure of Love Aaj Kal affected her. She said, Yes, I did. Because as bindaas as I am or as little as I value people’s opinions about my personal life or my personal choices, I care that much about what you think about my work. Because I make films for my audience and I make films for the media and if they don’t like my films and if they don’t like my work, I have a problem. Yes, of course I was affected; I didn’t take it too well.

But luckily for me I had Anand Ji, because after 10 days I went to shoot for him. And he told me that Sara’s failure can’t let Rinku’s life, because I have to go out there and live. It was not even just that I had to be confident by myself. And I have to enjoy what I have been doing, because I have been privileged to do that.

Further Sara added what advice her mother Amrita Singh gave to her.  She said, this is life, you will see high and you will see lows, it is important therefore to have a sense of yourself external to this. You have to believe that you are going to be Ok, in order to be ok. It’s important to do that. Because if you start dragging yourself down, then there is no hope.
