Sonny Boy Episode 13: Release Date, Speculation and Watch Online

In the 12th and the last episode of Sonny Boy, titled ‘A Two-Year Recess,’ after an insane transition between the dimensions, Mizuho and Nagara returned to the original world.

Although it was not revealed how, Nozomi and Asakaze were also seen in the original world, confirming that they managed to return as well.

It was revealed that Nagara and Mizuho reached their original world through the spacecraft and the technology that Rajdhani left for them.

Mizuho initially acted like she didn’t remember a thing about going adrift but later admitted that she had not forgotten anything. On the other hand, Nozomi and Asakaze seemed to have forgotten all the memories of going adrift.

We bring you the latest episode updates for this anime.

Episode 13 Preview & Speculation

It is confirmed that after Nozomi fell off the cliff in the other dimension, she didn’t actually die but returned to the original world. Also, it’s unclear whether she is putting up an act of not remembering anything like Mizuho or not.

The anime also failed to answer who was responsible for the whole incident. As Nagara said, their lives are just beginning, and the future will take just a little longer. As long as he has that part of him from Hateno, things are going to work out.

To add, that quick shot of Yamabiko confirms that he got his happy ending as well. The anime ended without answering a lot of questions, which makes me wonder if there is another season coming up soon.

Nevertheless, the overall uniqueness of the anime really sparked my curiosity, and I don’t think anything will ever reach the level of uniqueness that Sonny boy has.

Episode 13 Release Date

Episode 13 of the Sonny Boy anime will be released on Tuesday, Oct 05, 2021. The episode title or preview has not been shown.

We will update the article as soon as an official statement is released from the franchise.

Episode 12 Recap

After returning to the original world, Nagara passes his days like a normal person as if going adrift never happened. He meets Mizuho on the street on a rainy day and calls out her name but is shocked to learn that Mizuho doesn’t remember him.

Later, Nagara also sees Nozomi outside the school, waiting for Asakaze, her boyfriend. Due to a busy life, Nagara misses the time he spent in the other dimension with his friends.

On one such day, Nagara looks at the compass that Mizuho’s cat brought after Nozomi passed away and thinks that going adrift had to happen. He recalls when he was stuck with Mizuho in the spaceship and passed through many dimensions to reach here.

They were soon joined by Asakaze, who informed them that Ms. Aki had gone and Hateno island had sunk. Asakaze gave them a compass, with the help of which, Nagara and Mizuho found their original world.

In the present, Mizuho plans on renting an apartment and taking her grandmother’s cats in. Soon, Mizuho reveals that she remembers everything about the drifting incident. The two sit on a bench nearby and discuss past memories.

Before leaving, Mizuho assures Nagara that he will be fine in this world and doesn’t need to worry about things. After a few days, Nagara meets Nozomi at the station and discovers that she really doesn’t remember anything.

Things proceed normally for all the four students who managed to come back after going adrift. The episode ends with Nagara’s narration, saying their lives are only the beginning and what lies ahead will take just a little bit longer.

Without spoilers, the Sonny Boy finale was a beautiful end to a beautiful series. From start to finish the anime has oozed creativity and tackled what it means to live & change the world in such an ingenious way. I think this may be Shingo Natsume’s best work.
