Last year, with demand so high, Sony tried to do something about the sky-high PS5 pricing set by some retailers around the world for the console. They made it possible for fans in the US and Canada to sign up for a system, and those fans who signed up would receive regular offers to buy machines at normal market prices.
Now Sony is expanding this program, although it is not yet operational in various European countries, but hopes to expand the system further in the future. It is now open in the UK, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg, but they have yet to reveal where the plan is headed beyond.
Apparently, for the system to work, Sony only needs a PSN ID and an email.
“We will offer a limited number of PS5 consoles for customers to purchase directly from PlayStation. If selected, we will contact you via email with instructions and details,” said the website called.
