Japan’s electronics concern Sony unveiled the concept of an electric SUV, called Vision-S 02. electric motors and all-wheel drive.
Sony has made public its intentions regarding electric mobility. The Japanese plan to turn zero-emission cars from simple means of transportation into entertainment venues.

For some time now, autonomous driving and 5G connectivity have been implemented in the automotive industry. Thus, “electrics” will soon become true mobile platforms for information and entertainment services.
So far, Sony has built two prototypes of electric vehicles. In 2020, it introduced a sedan called Vision-S01. This year, at CES 2022 in Las Vegas, the Japanese came up with a new proposal, namely the seven-seater SUV Vision-S02 .
One of the partners Sony has partnered with is Canadian chassis manufacturer Magna-Steyr. It produces models such as Toyota Supra, BMW Z4 or Mercedes-Benz G-Class at the Graz plant in Austria.
Sony also has other partnerships with European companies. These include Bosch, Valeo and the Hungarian autonomous vehicle start-up AImotive.
In order to bring an electric vehicle to market, Sony should probably invest heavily in installations and equipment. The Americans at Tesla , who delivered their first electric car in 2008, spent billions of dollars because the business
Sony is just the latest technology company to explore opportunities in the automotive industry. The list also includes big names like Apple, LG Electronics, Foxconn, Xiaomi or Alibaba.
