Spoon Cover David Bowie’s “I Can’t Give Everything Away”: Listen

Spoon have shared a cover of the late David Bowie’s Blackstar song “I Can’t Give Everything Away.” Spoon recorded the song for Amazon Music’s month-long DISCOVER campaign celebrating Bowie’s 75th birthday this Saturday. “‘I Can’t Give Everything Away’ is a tune Alex and I have been playing since we learned it for an acoustic and piano show in Mexico City in 2016,” said bandleader Britt Daniel in a statement. “It’s just a fantastic song, and as the last song on Bowie’s final album it doesn’t disappoint. We recorded this version live in December 2021.”

On February 11, Spoon will release Lucifer on the Sofa, the follow-up to 2017’s Hot Thoughts. Last year, they released a cover of the Beatles’ “Christmas Time (Is Here Again)” for Spotify.
