Stalker 2 is somewhat one of the most anticipated titles by single-player FPS enthusiasts. Since its announcement, it has continued to cause a lot of ink to flow. It will spill a little more with this sad announcement.
Sad news in this month of January 2022: STALKER 2 is postponed for 7 (long) months. You will now have to wait until 8 December 2022 to be able to “walk” through the Zone. The announcement was made via the game’s Twitter account :
Stalkers,
We have decided to postpone the release of STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl to December 8, 2022.
These seven additional months of development are necessary to realize our vision and reach the finished state we want for the game. STALKER 2 is the most great project in the history of the GSC and it needs more testing and verification to perfect it.
This decision is not easy to make, but we are doing our best to deliver a game that lives up to expectations.
More information, updates and presentations are coming soon. An important year full of passion stands before us. We thank you for your patience and understanding.
With love, The GSC Game World Team.
For a better STALKER 2?
It’s always a bit sad to see a highly anticipated game being pushed back so many months. We can always be reassured by hoping to avoid a repetition of the rather hazardous launch of the first episode. An episode that still remains in the annals for its very large number of bugs and problems of all kinds…
STALKER 2 is planned for PC and Xbox Series at first . It should appear later (in 2023, a priori) on PlayStation 5.
