Statistics of the Ministry of Interior show that three cars are stolen every day in Bulgaria

Statistics show that since the beginning of the year only 16 percent of the stolen cars have been found and returned to their owners. The figures of the Ministry of Interior show a further decrease in the attacks on cars compared to 2020, as well as better results in the detection of such crimes. However, another trend continues: the newer models are targeting car dealerships.

Modern car protection technologies have caused car thieves to develop as well, says expert Rumen Dunev. of cat and mouse. Manufacturers are trying to make security protections, respectively car thieves are developing devices that can break through these devices, “explained Dunev.

The car expert told about another trend – car dealerships, for which car theft is a big bite, played at retail. And this business was grateful for them.

“Every car has parts that are quickly dismantled and very expensive. In some car models, these are the headlights that can be removed in less than a minute, and the price of one headlight is between BGN 5 and 8,000, ”commented Dunev.

And in order not to fall victim to similar offenses, experts recommend equipping your cars with immobilizers.
