Patrol officers responded to shots fired at about 5 a.m., the Ottawa Police Service said, launching a police operation that closed Albion Road South between between Wyldewood Street and D’Aoust Avenue for hours.

Officers found property damage caused by bullets and spent shell casings on the roadway but no injuries were reported.

Soon after, a vehicle matching the description of the one that was reportedly seen fleeing the scene was stopped on the westbound Highway 417 near the Parkdale Avenue off ramp.

Officers arrested all four occupants and seized a “crime gun,” police said.

Two men, a 19-year-old from Terrebonne and an 18-year-old from Montreal, and two youths from Montreal face “numerous” gun-related charges, police said.

Earlier this month, a man was wounded in a shooting on Albion Road near the corner of Lester Road, about a kilometre to the south. Just after 2 a.m. on Sept. 10, police were called to a collision. Instead, they found a 29-year-old man who had been shot inside his car and seriously injured. It’s unknown if the two incidents are related.
