With a jump of 134.5 meters and 10 place in the qualification Dawid Kubacki aroused the appetite for the last competition of the 70th of the Four Hills Tournament in Bischofshofen . After the competition, however, the world champion did not have a happy face, and all this was due to the second jump in the competition.
The first one was still pretty good. From a low beam, with a lot of wind blowing in the back, Kubacki reached 128 meters. It is true that he lost hand in hand with Piotr Żyła, but he was promoted to the second series as the third among the lucky losers. He was 17th at the halfway point.
After the second jump, he fell by 10 places. His final jump looked very bad. The Pole reached 123 meters and landed badly. He only got 46.5 points out of 60 from the judges.
– The day started well but ended with a very unsuccessful jump. In the second round I concentrated on keeping my skis steady but … I forgot to bounce. I almost fell off the threshold and did not give myself a chance to fly away – this is how Dawid Kubacki started the analysis of the failed jump.

– I feel embarrassed at myself, at my stupidity that I made such a jump. Of course, I had no intention of doing so, but it turned out that way. I would compare it to a situation where you go back in the car and you suddenly feel that you are hitting someone. You tell yourself this: I could see in the mirrors, and yet I struck. And I had such a feeling after the final jump – added the world champion and winner of the Four Hills Tournament two years ago.
A completely unsuccessful jump at the end of the tournament cannot be completely obscure the fact that Kubacki has made a step forward in recent days. First of all, it is in the top 30 for the second time in a row. In addition, he can do really hard tests like the one in the qualifying rounds.
– The jumps in qualifying and the first round give me hope that it all starts well work. I feel sorry for the second jump on Thursday that it looked so desperate. However, the base is already operational, but still needs to be worked on. As soon as the concentration went the other way, the effects were visible in the second series – he pointed out.
In the final classification of the 70th Four Hills Tournament, Dawid Kubacki took 22nd . place. He lost over 300 points to the winner of Kobayashi.
