The first Subaru electric car is quite similar to the Toyota bZ4X model.
The “control center” of the Japanese company Subaru released his first video showcasing the company’s first electric car, the Solterra.
Of course, it’s nice to finally see pictures of the crossover in motion, but I’m not sure why. Subaru is so chic with this release.
Everything in the video reaffirms the evidence we had so far that this is the modified version of the Toyota bZ4X. The only mystery left is to find out what the panel behind the rotary knob on the center console is.
A pretty successful and beautiful copy
In the Solterra images and video, the panel is covered with lights arranged like an illuminated spreadsheet. There is also a closing line and a depression at the front edge, as if it were a lid to be opened. However, it cannot hide anything so deep, due to the cut-out of the tunnel below.
The other notable difference between the models is the strongly reinforced seats, which seem to belong more to a WRX. Well, it could just be digital drives used just for this video.
Overall, it’s a nice package and chances are this model will work much better as a Subaru than like a Toyota, yes I’m thinking of a fully mature Crosstrek. Rumor has it that the car will cost somewhere between $ 30,000 and $ 40,000. Since the Tokyo Motor Show was canceled, the only major car event left is the LA Auto Show. There, we may receive more information about both Toyota and Subaru.
It will be sold in various markets, including the US starting next summer, probably as an offer for 2023, so that next year’s car show circuit could be more suitable.
