The Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM) decided today unanimously to dismiss judge Rui Fonseca e Castro from office, for various offenses committed.
Among the justifications for the dismissal, the CSM points out the fact that Rui Fonseca e Castro, “while invoking his capacity as a judge”, published videos on social networks in which he “encouraged the violation of the law and health rules” relating to the pandemic of covid- 19.
The decision was communicated to the journalists at the door of that institution by the member of the CSM Inês Ferreira Leite
Shortly before the decision was read, a group of protesters who supported the judge approached the site.
