Swiss residents to pay for coronavirus-vaccinated friends

The Swiss authorities decided to encourage residents of the country for campaigning in favor of vaccination against COVID-19, writes Reuters .

New “action” invented Federal Council, which has promised to pay people 50 francs (almost four thousand rubles) for each friend or relative who vaccinated. Using the tactics of “bring a friend”, the government intends to significantly increase the number of vaccinated.

In this case, the reward will be paid not in money, but in coupons. In the cabinet of ministers, they decide the areas where they can be applied. Most likely, coupons will be allowed to spend in movies, restaurants and other entertainment venues.

Currently, 42 percent of the 8.7 million Swiss population are vaccinated. “Immunization rates remain very low, which means we cannot end containment measures,” said Health Minister Alain Berset. According to official data , more than 841 thousand cases of COVID-19 and more than 10.7 thousand deaths have been registered in Switzerland and the neighboring principality of Liechtenstein.

Earlier it became known that residents of New York will be paid $ 100 (about 7.2 thousand rubles) for a vaccine against coronavirus.
