การปิโตรเลียมแห่งประเทศไทย (ปตท.) ร่วมกับ Foxconn Group ออกมาประกาศว่าโรงงานผลิตรถยนต์ไฟฟ้าในประเทศไทย จะเริ่มผลิตรถยนต์ไฟฟ้าจำนวนมากให้กับทาง Foxconn ในปี 2024Foxconn Group ซึ่งเป็นบริษัทที่รู้จักกันในฐานะผู้ผลิตรถยนต์ตามสัญญาร่วมกับ Apple ซึ่งล่าสุดบริษัทกำลังเดินหน้าอย่างรวดเร็วเพื่อก้าวเข้าสู่ตลาดรถยนต์ไฟฟ้า ที่ตอนนี้ตลาดดังกล่าวกำลังเติบโตอย่างรวดเร็วซึ่งรายงานล่าสุดเผยว่า Foxconn จะร่วมกับปตท. เพื่อใช้โรงงานในประเทศไทยในการผลิตรถยนต์ไฟฟ้าจำนวนมากในปี 2024 หากรายงานนี้เป็นจริงนั่นแปลว่าทั้ง 2 บริษัทกำลังวางแผนลงทุนราว 1 พันล้านดอลลาร์ในการจัดตั้งโรงงานแห่งใหม่นี้ในประเทศไทยคาดว่าโรงงานดังกล่าวจะสามารถผลิตรถยนต์ได้ 50,000 คันในช่วงเริ่มต้น และจะมีการขยายกำลังการผลิตขึ้นเป็น 150,000 คันในภายหลัง ซึ่งทาง Foxconn ไม่ได้จำกัดการผลิตไว้แค่ที่ประเทศไทยเท่านั้น แต่ยังมีการกระจายการผลิตไปยังประเทศอื่น ซึ่งเมื่อไม่กี่วันก่อนก็มีการประกาศลงทุนร่วมกับบริษัทอื่นในอินโดนีเซียด้วยเมื่อไม่กี่เดือนก่อน Foxconn ได้ประกาศเปิดตัวรถยนต์ EV รุ่นต้นแบบถึง 3 รุ่น ซึ่งบริษัทตั้งเป้าที่จะวางจำหน่ายรถยนต์ทั้งหมดในเชิงพาณิชย์ภายในปี 2022 นี้ที่มา gizmochinaelectric vehicle Foxconn National Petroleum Corporation of Thailand PTT
