No Match of the Day? No problem!
talkSPORT have launched a new ‘Game of the Day’ show which will debut on Saturday night to keep football fans covered during the BBC boycott.
The BBC’s flagship football programme will last just 20 minutes tonight, without commentary or analysisafter their line-up of talent all pulled out of the show in solidarity with Gary Lineker.
Ian Wright was the first to side with the former England and Leicester striker, after he was stood down from his role as MOTD host over his criticism of the government on social media.
The BBC made the decision on Friday, as they took exception to Lineker criticising the UK government over their new asylum seekers policy, with the 62-year-old likening the language of the bill to that of 1930s Germany.
Alan Shearer was next to announce he would not be appearing, leaving the BBC scrambling to assemble a team without their key trio, only for Alex Scott, Jermaine Jenas, Mark Chapman and others to follow suit.
Their regular commentators then informed the BBC they would not be contributing this weekend, either, leaving them with no other option but to broadcast a stripped-down show.
But, not to worry, because talkSPORT has got you covered, and we’ve even sent Alan Brazil down to the Beeb to give them a hand (sort of).
