Rumors that Apple working on an iPhone with a periscope lens appeared in 2020 by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. Although some rumors have said that the iPhone 14 Pro 2022 will have a periscope lens, new rumors indicate that it will arrive only with the iPhone 15 Pro launch in 2023.
(According to analyst Jeff Pooh, Apple will finally introduce a periscope lens with 5x optical zoom in the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max models. Reportedly, the giant from Cupertino is negotiating with Lanta optics, which will deliver periscope lenses for the iPhone Pro models in 2023. It is said that Apple is testing the samples and will make the final decision in May.

Following the agreement, Lante Optics will reportedly deliver 100 million components to Apple. Samsung and Huawei already offer a 10x periscope zoom lens in their flagship products and they are getting better with each generation. The latest iPhone 13 Pro models are limited to 3x optical zoom.
Recent rumors say the company will switch to a 48 MP main camera in the iPhone 14 Pro series with 12 MP in the current generation and bring support for 8K video recording, compared to 4K recording in the iPhone 13 series, reports PhoneArena .
