Annual inflation of more than 10 percent, a sudden drop in purchasing power of money and soaring fuel prices are the biggest concerns of Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro. Seven out of ten Brazilians blame him for their financial troubles, reports Bloomberg on Thursday.

Fuel costs increased by 40%. compared to 2020. Petroleo Brasileiro petrochemical concern this year by 38 percent. raised gas prices for cooking. This six-step increase had a huge impact on the finances of the poorest families.

According to a mid-September public opinion poll by Datafolha, 70 percent Brazilians are blamed for the decline in purchasing power and the rise in current costs of living on President Bolsonaro.

A poll by Modalmais and Futura Intelligencia on Wednesday pointed to Bolsonaro’s likely defeat to the left-wing candidate Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva in next year’s presidential election.

Bolsonaro promised not to interfere in the pricing policy of companies supplying Brazilians with energy . However, he chose to put pressure on governors and legislators to cut taxes on diesel and gas. The initial meeting of the parties did not come to an agreement, although Bolsonaro is confident that his proposed move would “cut gas prices in half”.

President The Chamber of Deputies, the lower house of the Brazilian Parliament, Athur Lira told the media that one of the options under discussion to solve the problem was to “create a price stabilization fund”. (PAP)
