Unchanged from October, the unemployment rate in Romania remained at 5.2 percent in November, the National Institute of Statistics (INS) said on Monday.
The estimated number of unemployed persons aged 15 to 74 was 432 thousand in November, 8 thousand more than a month earlier but less than in November 2020. 517,000 persons
Unemployment was 0.6 percentage points lower for women than for men (4.9% for women and 5.5% for men).
The unemployment rate among those aged 25 to 74 was estimated at 4.2 per cent for the eleventh month of this year (4.4 per cent for men and 4 per cent for women), which accounted for 76.9 per cent of the total unemployed.
The INS notes that from 2021 the methodology of the Labor Force Survey, which is the basis for unemployment data, has been revised and adapted to the new EU rules. The changes have a significant impact on the estimates for the number of employees and thus for the economically active, so this year’s data are not comparable with those previously recorded.
