After last week’s double-dose premiere that introduced Season 6’s Group A contestants — and a few Wildcards — “The Masked Singer” switched things up Wednesday with an episode devoted to Group B’s five competitors: Cupcake, Dalmatian, Mallard, Queen and two-person costume Banana Split.
By the end of the hour, Dalmatian was unmasked and revealed to be rapper Tyga. But we still don’t know the identities of the other four “Masked Singer” Group B contestants. However, we do have a few solid guesses from judges Jenny McCarthy, Ken Jeong, Robin Thicke and Nicole Scherzinger, plus viewers at home who threw out their theories on social media during the episode.
See below for TheWrap’s roundup of guesses for the remaining Group B contestants, who will return next week and be going up against their first Wildcard singers.
Banana Split
Judges and viewers alike think this sweet duo could be Derek and Julianne Hough, Katharine McPhee and David Foster, Faith Hill and Tim McGraw or Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling.
Queen of Hearts
This lovely lady is assumed to be either Dolly Parton, Debra Messing, Mariska Hargitay, Kristin Chenoweth or Jewel.
Mallard
Fans were quacking up trying to figure out if Mallard might be Billy Ray Cyrus, Willie Robertson, Rob Lowe, Nick Offerman or Darius Rucker.
Cupcake
The leading guesses for this divine dessert competitor are RuPaul, Laverne Cox, Billy Porter, NeNe Leakes, Roberta Flack, Leslie Jones and Tina Turner.
Per Fox, “The Season Six contestants boast a combined 85 Grammy Nominations and 27 wins, three Academy Award nominations, 12 Emmy Nominations, 12 Razzie Award Nominations, two Super Bowl appearances and two Lifetime Achievement Awards.”
As noted above, Wednesday’s episode saw Dalmatian cut and revealed to be Tyga. During last week’s two-night premiere of “The Masked Singer” Season 6, three Group A contestants were eliminated and unmasked: Octopus (Dwight Howard), Mother Nature (Vivica A. Fox) and Pufferfish (Toni Braxton).
The remaining Group A contestants include Skunk, Bull, Hamster and Baby (with those latter two being Wildcards who crashed the party during the premiere). And with a total of 16 competitors set for Season 6 of “The Masked Singer” and only 12 having shown up so far, we’re still awaiting the arrivals of these four Wildcards in future episodes: Beach Ball, Pepper, Caterpillar and Jester.
“The Masked Singer” airs Wednesdays at 8/7c.
