The Most Anticipated Documentaries of 2022

If you’re a fan of documentary films, you couldn’t have asked for a better year for the genre than 2021. And HBO’s Tiger reframed how we view Tiger Woods’s life and career, introducing a new villain to his story.

But worry not, our dear fan of any and all true stories, because we have good news for you: 2022’s slate of documentaries looks equally promising. We’ll see more sports send-ups, with new looks at the careers of soccer legend Neymar and baseball great Derek Jeter on the way. Netflix is back on its true-crime kick in The Puppet Master: Hunting the Ultimate Conman. Plus, we’ve been promised a trove of unseen Kanye West footage in the long-anticipated jeen-yuhs. We won’t keep you waiting. Here are our most anticipated documentaries of 2022.
