The Olympic champion in ski jumping misses the WOG in Beijing

The current Olympic champion in ski jumping, Norwegian Maren Lundby, announced tonight that she will not perform at the Winter Olympic Games in Beijing in 2022, due to weight problems.

“This is a sport with a lot of demands, weight is a part of it. My body has changed lately and for that reason I don’t want to sacrifice everything to in Beijing was at its best, “ she told the local public service.

Lundby ) added “that it was difficult to make such a decision, but she pointed out that her health condition is good”.

In her career so far, Lundby has won two gold medals. at the World First (2019)

She recorded a total of 30 victories in the World Cup, which makes her the second best. ski jumper of all time, behind the Japanese Sara Takanashi, who has 60 victories.

Ski jumping in the women’s competition was introduced for the first time at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi.

The Beijing Winter Olympics are scheduled for February 4-20, 2022.
