Norway should consider protected watercourses for the development of power production, according to the CEO of Haugaland Kraft.
Published: Updated:
– Electricity prices are a result of energy policy in Norway, and it depends on Europe. There is nothing we can do anything about, says CEO Olav Linga in Haugaland Kraft to
Haugesunds Avis .He says there is too little power production, and that prices therefore go up.
– We must produce more if prices are to go down, says Linga.
He says that if Norway is to reach the goal about producing more energy, one should look at the protected watercourses again.
– I will not say anything about which watercourses can be developed, but I mean the authorities must map the potential. Hydropower can be the key when platforms in the North Sea are to be electrified with power from land.
Linga says that technology today means that the impact on nature is not great.
– Hydropower production can take place inside the mountains, says Linga
