Before starting to describe the Huawei Watch GT 2, it is important to point out that it is mandatory to install the Huawei Mobile Services on your smartphone, if and only if it is not of the same brand as the watch. Indeed, the Chinese manufacturer must do without Google services and rely on its own application store, in particular with Huawei Health, which will be very important for obtaining in-depth analyses, whether for sleep quality or other.
That being said, the connected watch Huawei is obviously equipped with a ton of sensors (accelerometer, gyroscope, heart rate sensor, barometer, etc.) to track the activity of its user in real time. It can also automatically recognize up to 13 different types of exercise, including swimming thanks to its certified water resistance up to 5 ATM. An elegant and autonomous connected watch
The Huawei Watch GT 2 offers a fairly traditional design with its all-aluminum dial and brown leather strap, a nice mix that strongly recalls the look classic watches therefore, all the more so with the presence of two buttons on the sides for ease of navigation. In the middle of all this, we obviously find a circular touch screen, here AMOLED (Always-On Display compatible) of 1.39 inches for the 46 mm model. This is quite a size for small wrists, so we prefer to warn you.
The user experience is generally fluid and without hitches under Lite OS thanks to the power of the chip HiSilicon’s Kirin A1, an in-house processor that has equipped the majority of the Chinese brand’s wearables. This also allows the Watch GT 2 to benefit from a very appreciable gain in autonomy compared to the competition, since its battery allows it to last for around 14 days, according to the manufacturer. In fact, count on a good week with the GPS activated, but at least you won’t have to recharge it every day. In terms of functionality, we note the possibility of making calls via Bluetooth without a smartphone, up to 150 meters away, or the possibility of listening to music – still without a smartphone – thanks to the 32 GB internal memory.
