The surreal press conference between the Algeria coach and a journalist: “You are not a meteorologist” (Update)

Djamel Belmadi was not smiling after Algeria’s inaugural match at the CAN. The press conference did not help him find him. The coach was faced with a startling question from a familiar-speaking local reporter.

“If you had played at 6, 7 or 8 p.m., would you have farted the Sierra Leone team?”, asked the report to the former OM player before continuing his mind-blowing questions by referring to the weather in Côte d’Ivoire, where the next CAN 2023 will take place.

“Today it was very humid, very hot but that’s no excuse. But it weighs on the bodies of players who are used to to play in Europe. (…) I didn’t insist, I said that we had to deal with it. Then talk to you about the next AFCON when the current one is just beginning. You are comparing something that is incomparable“, he explained.

Angry as the press room hesitated not laughing at the questions of their colleague, Belmadi concluded this very surprising press conference by answering his interlocutor of the day: “ You are a journalist, not a meteorologist.”
