The first train rumbled from Belgrade to Nis on September 15, 1884 During the First World War war, briefly took over the role of the main city station, but was destroyed by bombing. After the reconstruction in 1931, a waiting room was added to accommodate high-ranking guests of the royal complex Beli dvor nearby, from where the Obrenovićs and Karađorđevićs set out on their travels. It was destroyed again during the Second World War. After the war, it served as the home station and garage for the famous Blue Train of Josip Broz Tito.

Domestic trains that run on the route Nis – Topcider – Nis will depart and also arrive at the station Belgrade Center.
