Therese Johaug krönt sich zur Langlauf-Königin von Peking.

Die 33-jährige Norwegerin gewinnt zum Abschluss der Wettkämpfe in Zhangjiakou über 30 km im Skating-Stil überlegen vor der Amerikanerin Jessica Diggins.

Am Ende lag Johaug bei Temperaturen von Minus 15 Grad und starkem Wind 1:43 Minuten vor Diggins und holte damit nach den Erfolgen im Skiathlon und über 10 km klassisch die dritte Goldmedaille. Bronze sicherte sich in einem packenden Finish die Finnin Kerttu Niskanen.

Die einzige Schweizer Starterin Lydia Hiernickel beendete das Rennen mit einem Rückstand von mehr als sieben Minuten auf Johaug im 27. Rang.
