On Saturday evening, they opened a 6.3-kilometer-long section of the R7 expressway from the Bratislava, South junction to the Bratislava, Nivy (Prievoz) junction. The main contractor of the D4R7 Construction informed about it.
stated that the beginning of this section of the R7 is a continuation of Bajkalská Street and is connected to the existing motorway network, specifically via the D1 at the site of the Prievoz level crossing, the branches of which will be open at a later stage. It then passes through the Malé Pálenisko locality, across the Malý Dunaj and leads through the western edge of Slovnaft to its south-western corner.
“The reason for the gradual opening of the sections stems from the more complicated organization of traffic and the avoidance of the consequences of possible traffic jams,” the builder explained. At the same time, the public is begging for patience with weekend opening procedures. According to him, the result for all drivers will be a more convenient connection on the R7 and D4 to Bratislava.
The last sections of the D4 / R7 project will be opened gradually. Last Sunday (September 26), a 4.3-kilometer-long section of the D4 motorway, including the floodplain bridge, was opened.
