Pacifier, croissant, thumb, just about anything in your mouth. So we took comfort in when we had a year. Later, some replaced it with a cigarette. It was elegant, decadent … but times are changing.
Cigarettes are now considered an unhealthy sign of mental weakness. So how do we calm down when there is too much for us and everything falls on our heads? Something to eat. And then another hour. Wouldn’t it be best to go back to the pacifiers in the end? Whenever I see someone smoking an electronic cigarette, this parallel occurs to me. Moms dealt with it that way. No wonder we do the same in adulthood. After all, it would be great if this connection occurred to us when our baby was born. Because that’s when we have a chance not to create a child-like vicious circle. There are other types of reassurance than “something in your mouth”.
