According to information from the Regina Police Service, at about 11:45 a.m., police were called to the intersection of Victoria and Arcola avenues for a report of a male who’d been injured after being struck by a stolen vehicle.
While the matter remains under investigation, early information was that a driver had stopped at the intersection and was hit from behind by another vehicle. The driver in the front vehicle then got out and approached the back of his vehicle. At that point, police said, he was hit by the stolen vehicle.
People inside other vehicles who saw the injured male stopped and got out to help him.
“The suspect then struck the original victim and two witnesses who were assisting the injured male,” police said. “The vehicle then fled the scene.”
The intersection was blocked off for part of the day to allow police to investigate.
Police said a suspect has been arrested. While details of charges were not provided, police said charges are anticipated.
Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call city police at 306-777-6500, your local law enforcement agency or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
