TI10 Match Predictions and Betting Analysis – Group Stage Day 2

The International 10 (TI10) kicks off with a well-balanced group distribution. We have several prominent teams in the group A side, where Evil Geniuses and Team OG are the talks of the town. Meanwhile, group B too has its flair, but most favorites are taking their expected victories.

PSG.LGD vs Team Secret (Group B)

The second day at TI10 will begin with what we believe is the first clash of titans. Between China’s strongest candidate, PSG.LGD and Europe’s best, Team Secret.

To begin, sure PSG.LGD has more achievements in their book, from major champions title to being top seeds in Dota Pro Circuit 2021 (DPC 2021). However, Team Secret’s seasoned pack of players have been phenomenal as well.

We saw Team Secret dominated Team Spirit, notably Ludwig “zai” Wåhlberg, who enjoyed thrashing his opponents with sick plays. PSG.LGD also swept the floor with Quincy Crew with a promising draft, as opposed to their opponents’ magic damage-oriented draft failing to work out.

Frankly, this prediction is a tough call, since we know PSG.LGD certainly has the better odds, but Team Secret is no pushover either. That said, Team Secret always seem to have a tough time competing with its Chinese rivals, so we have to favor PSG.LGD on this one. PSG.LGD leads the odds game at x2.30 vs Team Secret at x3.76 returns.

Team OG vs T1 (Group A)

OG comes in as a heavy favorite despite their poor showing last season. Nonetheless, we will give OG the benefit of the doubt since they did debut in TI10 alongside a TI5 champion, Syed Sumail “SumaiL” Hassan. Team OG remained close with their roots of playing Dota 2 as fun as possible.

By that, we meant that their clownish playstyle is still very much unpredictable, and often causes chaos for their opponents. Then, we have T1, who shockingly won second runner-up in WePlay AniMajor, sealing their spot in TI10. Let’s not forget about the Thai prodigy, Nuengnara “23savage” Teeramahanon, often hailed as the next SumaiL rival after he reached 12K MMR.

Yet, we saw T1 got completely shut down by Invictus Gaming yesterday, forcing 23savage into the defensive role. As a mid player, that’s never a great situation to be in, since in most games, they have to be the breadwinner for their team. Furthermore, 23savage has been rather careless, playing seemingly on his own when the game goes south.

Hence, T1 is heading into day 2 at TI10 with quite a poor start, while OG having won their first day’s games are feeling on top of the world. Team OG holds x2.50 odds versus T1 at x4.02 odds.

Invictus Gaming vs Virtus.pro (Group B)

Yet another high-profile match, IG hops onto the playing field as a demolishing force. Once again, supporting the rumor that IG presumably fluked the second major to give way to other teams. Nevertheless, VP on the other side needs to redeem themselves after their poor showing in two consecutive majors.

Sure, they did beat some underwhelming teams, such as Undying and Alliance. However, a match versus IG will be the true testament of their worth. Although we depicted VP as the underdogs heading into this match, the International odds reflect polarly to the situation.

VP is in favor of winning at x2.39 odds versus IG at x4.24 returns. We have no doubt that IG can effectively nullify the Russian bears this time around.

PSG.LGD vs Fnatic (Group A)

Now, in terms of odds, PSG.LGD wins by a huge margin, especially since Fnatic is a team that debuted in TI10 through qualifiers. However, we have seen Fnatic went head-to-toe against Vici Gaming, a Chinese powerhouse, whose performance is second to PSG.LGD.

This could be a long shot, but Fnatic does have some tricks up its sleeves. Bane has been a top pick for support players at TI10, due to its sure-fire way of setting up kills on even the toughest carries. We haven’t seen PSG.LGD ban the hero in any match on day 1, showing that they are relatively confident they can counter it.

Perhaps this could just be Fnatic’s chance at making a crack on PSG.LGD’s impeccable defence since it’s Djardel Jicko B. “DJ” Mampusti, who will play the Bane pick. Speaking of odds, PSG.LGD has x1.52 against Fnatic’s whopping x8.34 odds.

Now, we aren’t recommending betting against PSG.LGD at all, but considering the eight-fold gain on Fnatic’s win. It’s worthwhile for the long shot if you don’t mind losing the ten bucks.
