TikTok goes wild for new £14 sheer tinted SPF that’s ‘great for oily skin’

It’s crucial to shield your skin from the sun, not just in summer but all year round, and beauty enthusiasts are buzzing about potentially one of the best tinted SPFs to launch.

If you’re a fan of Glow Hub’s viral hits like Scar Slayer and Glow Balm – touted as a cheaper alternative to Jones Road Miracle Balm – you’ll want to check out their latest release, Defend Yourself Tinted Sun Silk SPF30. Available in seven shades and priced at £14 on the Glow Hub website, this is a sheer, tinted version of its popular original Sun Silk SPF, which shoppers praise for being “great for oily skin” and leaving “no white cast”.

Packed with antioxidant-rich marigold, vitamin E and green tea, this sunscreen provides a sheer, radiant veil of colour to the skin, while also offering high sun protection with SPF 30, reports the Mirror.

“It’s lightweight, silky, absorbs instantly, doesn’t irritate the eyes or leave that odd SPF taste in the mouth,” says Tiffany Salmon, Glow Hub founder. “Oh, and because I love a hybrid, it gives the most gorgeous, glowy, skin-smoothing tint.”

After teasing the launch on TikTok, plenty of beauty lovers seemed eager to try this, commenting, “Can’t wait! ” and “Going straight in my basket! ” on the social media platform.

And if Defend Yourself is anything like the untinted version, we think it’s going to be a real hit, judging by some of the reviews of its predecessor:

“Love, no white cast and is perfect for people who don’t like greasy sunscreens,” one shopper wrote in a glowing review.

I love this product because it protects your skin in a layer that doesn’t feel too thick or thin,” agreed another happy customer, loving the fit for their oily skin. “I have oily skin and I’ve found that it doesn’t add any oil to my face throughout the day.”

In response to some comments about the product being a tad greasy, a third consumer shared, “Some people are saying that this leaves a kinda greasy feeling but honestly I’m not getting that, its smooth and glossy on my skin and doesn’t leave any kind of residue… It is lightweight and pleasant to apply and both something I would recommend and buy again!”

Retailing for £14, we’re already adding this to our must-try list.

Don’t miss out on other fan-favourite tinted SPFs such as La Roche-Posay Anthelios UVMUNE 400 Invisible Fluid Tinted SPF50, now a steal at £16 down from £20, and beauty editor’s pick Ultrasun 50+SPF Tinted Face, currently on offer for £22.40, reduced from £28.
