The official website of the Toku: Touken Ranbu – Hanamaru – Setsugetsuka anime movie trilogy announced production staff and opening dates on Friday. The first movie, subtitled Yuki no Maki, is scheduled to open in theaters on May 20, followed by the second and third movies, subtitled Tsuki no Maki and Hana no Maki, on July 8 and September 1.

Tomoaki Koshida (Zoku Touken Ranbu: Hanamaru) and Sumie Noro (Maoujou de Oyasumi assistant director) are helming the second and third movie, respectively.
Doga Kobo produced two Touken Ranbu: Hanamaru anime seasons in Fall 2016 and Winter 2018, each running for 12 episodes. Crunchyroll simulcast both seasons with subtitles, while Funimation streamed an English dub.
The anime series is based on Nitroplus and DMM Games’ online card collectible game, which was released in Japan in January 2015. Game platform Johren released the game in English on April 27. The franchise also received stage plays, musicals, and two live-action films.
