In a few weeks, the Uncharted movie starring Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg will hit theaters. A prequel to the game, the film focuses on young Nathan Drake and how he met his best friend Sally. While we’ll see the movie soon, Holland has been doing a lot of press work to promote the movie lately, some of which includes an interview with the Total Film magazine edition (thank youGamesRadar), he revealed that the Uncharted movie was inspired by a younger James Bond film he pitched to Sony.
“After or during Spider-Man 2, I had a meeting with Sony and came up with the idea of a younger Bond movie that I came up with. This is James Bond The origin story. It didn’t make much sense. It didn’t work out. It was a young man’s dream, and I don’t think the Bond team was particularly interested.
Although the 007 team didn’t take it, But as Tom Holland revealed further, Sony did see potential in the idea.
“”The idea of a younger Pound film sparked the concept, which in turn, You can make Nathan Drake’s origin story, not as a supplement to the game. This starts the conversation.
This all happened while Holland was at Sony’s CES 2022 presentation, talking about the Uncharted movie. During this time, the actor also revealed how he discovered the game series, which is reported by Kotaku.
“One of the luxuries of making these movies is that they’re made by Sony, and one of the luxuries of working for Sony is the PlayStation. So all the actors have in their trailers I got the best TV and the newest PlayStation, and one of the games they gave me was Uncharted.”
