„Unser ehemaliger Spieler Borislav Stevanović ist im Alter von 46 Jahren gestorben. Er spielte von 1992 bis 1998 für Radnicki und erzielte dabei in 101 Spielen 28 Tore. Im Jahr 2001 absolvierte Stevanović auch ein Match für die serbisch-montenegrinische Nationalmannschaft. Der Fußballklub Radnički spricht der Familie aufrichtiges Beileid aus“, betrauerte etwa sein Ex-Klub aus Niš das Ableben des Fußballers.
Was das eine Länderspiel von Stevanović anbelangt, handelte es sich um das Team-Abschiedsspiel seines engeren Landsmanns Dragan Stojković, ebenfalls in Niš gebürtig. Damals hatte der gerade von einem kurzen Auslandsaufenthalt bei Merida in Spanien zu Rad Belgrad heimgekehrte Stevanović seine beste Zeit im Klub-Fußball erlebt. Für die Hauptstädter, die stets im Schatten der Großklubs Roter Stern und Partizan stehen, traf er in 105 Spielen 46-mal.
