The Wichita State Shockers have enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they must head out on the road. Wichita State and the Tulane Green Wave will face off in an American Athletic battle at noon ET Saturday at Fogelman Arena in Devlin Fieldhouse. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous games.
The Shockers didn’t have too much breathing room in their contest with the UCF Knights on Wednesday, but they still walked away with an 84-79 victory. Among those leading the charge for Wichita State was guard Ricky Council IV, who had 31 points.
Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Tulane at home against the Tulsa Golden Hurricane on Wednesday as the team secured a 97-63 win. Tulane relied on the efforts of guard Jaylen Forbes, who shot 6-for-8 from beyond the arc and finished with 24 points and five rebounds, and guard Jalen Cook, who had 23 points.
Barring any buzzer beaters, Wichita State is expected to win a tight contest. But bettors beware: they are only 4-9 against the spread when favored.
The wins brought the Shockers up to 10-7 and the Green Wave to 8-9. Wichita State is 5-4 after wins this year, Tulane 2-5.
