NBC’s new drama “La Brea,” a series centered on the aftermath of a massive sinkhole mysteriously appearing in Los Angeles, debuted on Tuesday night to a solid 6.2 million viewers and a 0.7 rating in live numbers.
Kindred
Ryan Kwanten, Micah Stock, Gayle Rankin, Austin Smith, Antoinette Crowe-Legacy and David Alexander Kaplan have all scored regular roles on FX’s new drama series “Kindred” based on the novel by Octavia E. Butler. Janicza Bravo will helm the pilot.
The series will follow a Black woman (Mallori Johnson) who, while living a modern-day lifestyle, is surprised when she is suddenly transported to a pre-Civil War Maryland plantation. As she travels back and forth, she tries to keep a grip on reality. [Source: Collider]
Reasonable Doubt
Disney’s Onyx Collective label has greenlit the legal drama “Reasonable Doubt” which “Scandal” star Kerry Washington, Raamla Mohamed and Larry Wilmore will executive produce. Washington will also direct the first episode.
Emayatzy Corinealdi (“Ballers”) stars as Jax Stewart, a lawyer with ‘questionable ethics’ who also happens to be one of the most brilliant defense attorneys in all of Los Angeles. [Source: THR]
Love Life
HBO Max has released the full trailer for the second season of its romantic dramedy anthology series “Love Life” with “The Good Place” star William Jackson Harper taking on the lead role this time.
Harper plays Marcus Watkins, a newly single man who just had his divorce. He re-enters the complicated world of dating in hopes to being able to find love again. The ten episode series returns on October 28th and will release episodes in batches over a two-week period.
Insecure
HBO has premiered the official trailer for the fifth and final season of acclaimed comedy-drama “Insecure” starring creator and executive producer Issa Rae. The final ten episodes will debut weekly on HBO starting October 24th.
The final season continues to follow the characters as they evaluate their relationships, both new and old, in an effort to figure out who and what comes with them in this next phase of their lives.
