The U21 national team (JG 2000) has fulfilled the compulsory task for Estonia. The selection of team boss Werner Gergoritsch has in the evening in the Rannastaadion in Pärnu a safe 4-0 win against Celebrated Estonia.

Gregoritsch surprises with his line-up and, unlike in previous games, does not send his team onto the field with a chain of three, but leaves captain Flavius Daniliuc as Right-backs act in a back four.

The changeover and the numerous missing high performers are noticeable at the beginning, The ÖFB talents need to find their way into the game. When it gets dangerous, it always goes through the left attack side. Prass and Auer always pose problems for the Estonian defense.

Logically, the lead hit also falls on this page. Auer comes down to the baseline and finds Junior Adamu with his ball in the middle. Austria’s number nine puts down briefly on Alexander Prass, who slides flat into the far corner – his first goal in the U21 team (16th).

With the leadership in the back, the self-confidence of the Gregoritsch selection grows. After a nice individual action, Junior Adamu is brought down in the penalty area. He converts the penalty that is due to make it 2-0 (22nd minute).

Adamu breaks resistance

After changing sides it is Again goalgetter Adamu, who makes the final decision with his second goal. As so often on this evening, an attack from the left side, Auer with the ball in the middle and Adamu nods from close range (54th).

With the third hit, the Estonians’ resistance is finally broken. The U21 team lets the ball and opponent run. The most beautiful action in the second round is unsuccessful. After a wonderful attack, Adamu is disturbed at the last moment when he tries to complete a Stanglpass from Prass.

In the 57th minute, Marlon Mustapha makes his debut for the U21 team. He can cheer when Nicolas Seiwald somehow spits the ball past the Estonian goalie in the 65th minute and scores Austria’s fourth goal that evening.

Gregoritsch then brings two more debutants for the last ten minutes. Muhammed Cham Saracevic and Julian Buchta replace Flavius Daniliuc and Nicolas Seiwald.

The ÖFB talents routinely play the game to the end. A bigger challenge awaits next Tuesday (6:30 p.m., live ORF Sport +). Then the U21 team will visit Finland.

Comments on the game

Team boss Werner Gregoritsch: ” The way we scored the goals away from a very defensive opponent, the way we played, deserves the greatest respect. My team has shown that it is by no means a B selection, as many may have believed after the failures. In one phase we let ourselves be infected by the hectic pace of the Estonians, we let ourselves be provoked, but we found our way back on track and won well. “

Captain Flavius Daniliuc: “We left no doubts about our victory, we were there from the start. It is of course nice that we managed to keep clean again. Now a bigger chunk is waiting with Finland, we certainly have to improve, but we can be satisfied today. “

Alexander Prass:” The goal was a bit of liberation for me personally because it hasn’t worked out so far. I’m happy that it was a can opener for the whole team because the first 15 minutes were a bit difficult. But then we did well, we have to continue like this, then we will achieve our goals. “
