Ukrainian Monzul appointed as the chief arbiter for the match Andorra – England
Referee Panel, composed of women, will serve the 2022 World Cup qualifying match between the national teams of Andorra and England. The main referee of the match will be Ukrainian Ekaterina Monzul . Her assistants – Marina Streletskaya and Svetlana Grushko . The VAR will be in charge of the Frenchwoman Stephanie Frappard .
For the first time in England’s history, they will be judged by a woman. Monzul already has experience in international matches: in November 2020, she was part of the first women’s refereeing team serving the match between San Marino and Gibraltar in the League of Nations. She also has experience in the Women’s World and European Championships and is an arbiter of the Ukrainian Premier League.
Frappard has judged the men’s Champions League as well as the men’s World Cup qualifier, becoming one of the pioneers of women’s refereeing in the sport.
