Manchester United coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said today that with Cristiano Ronaldo “there is always an opportunity”, after the Portuguese scored the winning goal against Villarreal in the Football Champions League.
“We were lucky in the end. But when you have Cristiano Ronaldo, there is always an opportunity”, explained the coach after the 2-1 victory at Old Trafford.
On the day in which he became the footballer with the most games in the competition’s history (178), Ronaldo scored, in the fifth minute of added time, the winning goal against the Spaniards, who were advanced by Paco Alcácer, in the 53rd minute, before Bruno Fernandes watched the Brazilian ex-FC Porto Alex Telles for the draw.
“It’s enough to see the impact that Ronaldo had, with the fans, the players, everybody. We already know what it’s like in the face of a goal”, added the coach.
Solskjaer called this “a great victory for the players”, against a “very tough” opponent.
