In five days of 2022
In the first days of 2022, along with the acceleration of infections, there has been an increase in the number of people hospitalized in the Metropolitan Area of the Valley of Mexico (ZMVM) due to Covid-19, according to show data from the capital government.

In the first days of 2022, along with the acceleration of infections, there has been an increase in the number of people hospitalized in the Metropolitan Area of the Valley of Mexico (ZMVM) due to Covid-19, according to show data from the capital government.
As of Saturday, January 1, in the ZMVM there were 312 people hospitalized for Covid, both in general beds and with a ventilator: 230 in the CDMX and 82 in the Edomex.
For last Thursday, January 6, the number of people hospitalized in the ZMVM reached 525, that is, 213 more in five days, equivalent to an increase of 68 per hundred. Of the 525, 409 were hospitalized in capital hospitals and another 116 in Mexican centers.
If we separate by entity, between January 1 and 6, there was an increase of 77.8% people hospitalized in CDMX and 41.4% in the State of Mexico.
Intubated
Regarding people in bed with a ventilator, in the same period of analysis, it went from 104 to 115 people in the ZMVM, an increase of 10.5 percent.
By state, CDMX went from 88 to 103 (17% more); while in Edomex there was a drop from 16 to 12 people with the support of a mechanical fan.
On Sunday, the head of government of the capital, Claudia Sheinbaum, acknowledged that there is a “ slight” increase in hospitalizations, although below what occurred on similar dates in 2021 or when the third wave of infections occurred (second half of 2021).
