AS an accompanying program of the three-day “Zice Library Librarians 2021” which until 8 October, held in Kraljevo and Vrnjačka Banja, tonight in the ceremonial hall of the Kraljevo City Administration was held a literary evening dedicated to academician Matija Bećković, one of the greatest Serbian poets.

With partial respect for epidemiological measures, the ceremonial hall was, as expected, narrow to receive all interested citizens of Kraljevo, great admirers of Bećković’s character and work, who on this occasion, without hiding his emotions, recited his selected verses.
At the same time, with an appropriate program, an exhibition called “Matija” was opened, whose author is Dragana Tipsarevic, longtime director of Kraljevo libraries. On a total of 31 panels, the exhibition chronologically encompasses the life and extensive literary work of our esteemed academic through photographs, documents, his poems, prose texts, manuscripts, addresses, notes and quotations.
In addition to the author, the famous folk guslar Radovan Peković from Kraljevo also participated in the program, interpreting Bećković’s verses with the gusle.
